Will Wile E. Coyote ever find happiness?

The Democrats’ efforts to reverse the outcome of the 2016 election remind me of the old Roadrunner cartoon that I used to enjoy.

Wile E. Coyote would order some kit from Azme Corporation that would allow him to use his knife and fork on the Roadrunner.  Of course, the kit failed to work or Mr. Coyote didn’t allow for some aspect of using the kit and the whole endeavor became a spectacular failure.

Consider the Democrats’ failures since Nov. 8:

1. Recounts failed badly in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

2. Attempts to convince electors to vote for Hillary Clinton where Donald Trump won the electors’ state resulted in more electoral defections from Clinton than from Trump.

3. Blame the Russians. Democrats charge that 17 U.S. intelligence agencies are convinced that Russia interfered in the election.

Then no evidence emerges that Russian actions changed a single vote. The New York Times and others recently had to change part of their original story to four U.S. intelligence organizations alleged the Russians interfered instead of 17.

4. Charge collusion between the Russians and the Trump organization. Three journalists from CNN had to resign because a story they wrote about collusion between a Trump advocate and the Russians used just one anonymous source and could not be verified.

5. The latest attempt is to declare Donald Trump mentally unfit and remove him from office under the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.

It is possible that a kit ordered by the Democrats from Acme someday just might work. It’s also possible that this latest effort by the Democrats indicates that a psychological problem exists collectively among some Democrats rather than a mental illness in Donald Trump.

The election was a huge shock to Democrats who were certain that Clinton would be the first female president of the U.S. Every pundit, every pollster and most politicians on both sides believed Clinton would win. The media was equally certain and ranged in opinion from “she will win” to “she will win by a landslide.”

I recommend that you pick any network and watch their coverage of election night on Youtube.com — it’s revealing.

After smugly anticipating a Clinton victory for months and months, how does the Democrat brain accept the reality of a Trump victory? He cheated. If he didn’t cheat, then how did he win?

Many Democrats just refuse to explore that question. It’s psychologically easier for them to send in another order to Acme Corporation.

I have avoided so far a much harder question about Donald Trump. That question is whether he is a good man.

He is not. I never want to meet him socially.

He has a problem relating to women; I have a wife and two daughters. I do not believe he has the welfare and dignity of women high on his list of priorities.

Although he treats veterans better than a recent president did, he insulted one of our military heroes, Sen. John McCain. I wonder whether he really understands life in the military services.

One of his unwritten responsibilities is to unite this country. So far, he has failed miserably.

The good news is that our Constitution works very well 228 years after its adoption. America has a remedy.

If Donald Trump is not the right person to be president, we can select a new person in 2020. If he learns and adapts to the job, we could reward him with another term.

Or we could strap another rocket to our back and blast off after that bird. Beep beep.
