Charlotte retired from Pawating Hospital (Now Lakeland) after 33 years in the nursing department. She also worked as a volunteer at the hospital after her retirement. She was very talented and always doing some kind of crafts or painting. Most of her friends and family have something in their possession that she has made, whether it be a picture she painted, a Christmas gourd, birdhouse, decorations, ceramics, miniatures, or a piece of jewelry. She was also quite the scrap-booker.
Her years after retirement were spent very involved in Genealogy. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution Rebecca Dewey Chapter of Three Oaks, Michigan. She had traced and proved her family history back to the 1500s. She and a cousin, Jerry, living in Florida, whom she discovered while doing her research, talked many hours on the phone comparing notes and discussing their family history. She created a family genealogy scrapbook and loved showing it off when friends came over.
