Dec. 25, 1955 — June 2, 2017
Pamela (Frantz) Strycker, 61, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at St. Joseph Regional Hospital after a brief illness, with her family by her side.
Pam was born on Christmas Day in 1955 to the late Wayne and Georgianna (Pride) Frantz in Niles. Pam grew up in Niles and graduated from Brandywine in 1975.
A health care provider for most of her life, Pam was dedicated to caring for people who needed her. In 2006, Pam quit her job so she could devote herself to caring for her mom, Georgianna, until her mom lost her battle with brain cancer.
Pam worked at Regency Place in South Bend, Indiana. In later years, she worked as a line cook. Pam loved to cook and was always searching through her many cook books for new recipes to try. Pam also enjoyed sewing. Her favorite hobby was gardening; she loved her flowers and raising vegetables and tended to them every day.
Pam is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Taylor) Spring, and granddaughter Jemma Spring, both of Florida; son-in-law James Rosso; grandson Connor Rosso of Mishawaka; her brothers, Danny (LeEtt) Frantz of Dowagiac, Steven (Doris) Frantz of Vandalia, and her sister, Sheryl (Don) Kendall of Niles; and many nieces and nephews. Pam also leaves to cherish her memory her long-time companion, David Scheibelhut of Mishawaka, whose heart is broken by the loss of his “Baby Cakes” and the love of his life. She also leaves behind her rescue cat, “Little Kitty,” whom she adored.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Wayne in 1987 and Georgiana in 2006, and her beloved daughter, Danielle M. (Strycker) Rosso in 2009.
Pam was a very private person, and per her request cremation has taken place. To honor her memory, a time of visitation will be hosted from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles, with a service to celebrate her life at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous. Condolences, photos and memories may be left for the family at BrownFuneralHomeNiles.com.
