Maxine Frederick, 77, of Dowagiac, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017.

Maxine was born Jan. 12, 1940, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Herschel (Melvin) and Elizabeth (Betty) Williams.

She was united in marriage to George “Jack” Frederick on Oct. 4, 1985, in St. Louis.

Maxine graduated from Mishawaka High School and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alaska.

She was an active volunteer for many organizations in the community.

Maxine is survived by her husband; daughters; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother David Williams; and sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and Ross Kistler.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her three sons: Mike, Mark and Brian Snyder.

Maxine was always on the go. She loved to travel and visited every state, except Hawaii. She believed in living life to the fullest and treated everyone as if they were family. She and Jack enjoyed every minute of their time together.

A celebration of life service will be hosted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Old Rugged Cross Church, 61041 Vermont St., Dowagiac.
