Dowagiac eliminated by Paw Paw in Class B district opener

VICKSBURG — Paw Paw rallied from a 37-32 halftime deficit to eliminate Dowagiac from the Class B district tournament at Vicksburg Monday night.

The Redskins outscored Dowagiac 18-13 in the fourth quarter to advance to tonight’s district semifinal against the host Bulldogs. Tipoff is set for 7:15 p.m.

Dowagiac jumped out to a 21-12 first quarter lead, but was unable to hold on to it as Paw Paw outscored the Chieftains 20-16 in the second quarter and 17-12 in the third quarter.

Luke Tolliver scored a game-high 27 points for Paw Paw, while Trey Brennan added 22 points.

Adrien Bucha-Moore scored 23 points in his final game for the Chieftains.

Dowagiac also got 14 points from Caleb Murphy and 11 points from Jamin Hunt.

It was the second time in 10 days that the Redskins had defeated the Chieftains.

Paw Paw defeated Dowagiac 51-40 in a Wolverine Conference non-divisional contest Feb. 24.
