Betty was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Cleveland, to Fred and Ida (Holmstrom) Pearson.

On Aug. 10, 1941, she married Donald Diezi in Monteno, Illinois. They moved from Chicago to Dowagiac in 1945.

Betty had an amazing talent and love for dancing. In her younger years she performed professionally with her sister, Virginia, as a chorus girl and acrobat. Betty spent many years raising a variety of animals on their Yaw Street farm, she enjoyed taking care of her family and being a stay-at-home mom. In their early retirement years, she and Donald spent winters in Florida, enjoying fun times with friends, golfing and fishing.

Betty’s greatest joy was her family: daughter Donna (Frank) Pisarsky of Berrien Springs; granddaughters Jamie (Jason) Spenner of Berrien Springs, Jodie Walker of Three Rivers and Julie (Kevin) Mack of Jones; five great-granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Virginia Palmquist; and grandson, Joseph Robinson.
