Shirley J. (Roebeck) Kujawa, 85, of Niles, passed away peacefully at Westwoods of Niles on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017.
She was born April 16, 1931, to the late Frederick and Hulda (Reum) Roebeck in Niles.
On Nov. 29, 1947, Shirley married Henry “Hank” Kujawa at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Niles.
Shirley was a former employee of the former Ned’s Meat Processing, and retired from the former Demond’s Grocery Store and a homemaker. She enjoyed raising her sons and caring for her family and home. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She was devout in her faith, a founding member of St. Mark Catholic Church and a member of the Alter Rosary Society. Shirley will be remembered for her grace, kindness and the love she showed everyone she came in contact with.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and her siblings, A. Louise Fletcher, Lewis Roebeck and Merrill Roebeck.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 69 years, Henry “Hank” Kujawa; sons Roger Kujawa (Vickie Martin) of Waxahachie, Texas, Gerald (Mary Louise) Kujawa of Waxahachie, Richard “Dick” (Pat) Kujawa of Niles, Edward Kujawa of Edwardsburg and Terry “Tate” (Donella) Kujawa of Niles; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harry Roebeck of Niles.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel, 61453 M-51 in Niles, with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at St. Mark Catholic Church, with Father Thomas King, C.S.C., officiating, and Brother Dennis Meyers, C.S.C., assisting. A final interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Niles.
The family would like to thank Dr. Casper, the staff at Westwoods and the wonderful people from Hospice-Lakeland for caring for Shirley during her illness.
