The Michigan State Police is partnering with the Renaissance Athletic Club in Benton Harbor to offer a unique opportunity for seventh- through 12th-grade students.
With the goal of bringing local youth and police officers together, teenagers will have the opportunity to work out with Michigan State Police officers, offering a way to connect in a positive environment.
Groups will be paired with a police officer and RAC trainer as they complete what organizers say will be a challenging but rewarding workout. The workout will be in a group setting and will include circuit-style exercises along with a police escorted run.
The event will occur outdoors from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 15, weather permitting at the Renaissance Athletic Club, located at 501 Graham Ave. in Benton Harbor. In addition to exercise, there will also be giveaways and free snacks. The event is free.
All persons attending will be required to have a signed consent form by a parent/guardian. The consent for will be provided at the time of the event.
