Edwardsburg blanks Plainwell 30-0

PLAINWELL — The Edwardsburg football team continues to shine defensively.

The Eddies blanked host Plainwell 30-0 Oct. 7 to improve to 7-0 on the season.

A win over Three Rivers for homecoming Friday night would give Edwardsburg a share of the Wolverine Conference championship.

The Eddies are a game ahead of the Wildcats and Vicksburg, both of which stand at 6-1 entering Friday’s action.

Edwardsburg rushed for 397 yards against the Trojans and was 1-of-3 passing for an additional 12 yards.

Nick Bradley rushed for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Joey Hess added 114 yards and a score.

Bradley scored on runs of 7 and 3 yards, while Hess’ run covered 2 yards.

Quarterback Cameron Ekanayake, who rushed for 60 yards, scored the other touchdown on a 10-yard run.

Defensively, the Eddies gave up just 93 yards of total offense, including 80 yards rushing.

Chris Griffen led the defense with six tackles. Joe Raab and Spencer Plummer both had five stops, while Kenshaune Rucker had four tackles and an interception.
