KALAMAZOO — Western Michigan announced its game times and broadcast networks for its two Big 10 opponents this season.

The Broncos’ season opener at Northwestern on Sept. 3 will be at noon, while the team’s road game at Illinois on Sept. 17 will be at 4 p.m.

The game against Northwestern will be broadcast on ESPNU. It marks just the second time the two schools have met, with the last time coming in 2013 when the Wildcats were ranked No. 17 overall. That day Northwestern upended the Broncos 38-17.

The game against Illinois will be broadcast on ESPNews. Western Michigan is 1-4 all-time against the Illini, with the Broncos getting a victory in Kalamazoo on Nov. 8, 2008 when they won 23-17. This year’s game marks the first meeting since 2012.

The Broncos now know six of their game times for the year after last week’s release of four additional contests. During the season ESPN and CBS Sports Network will select games that have not already been determined 12 days out.
