Cheryl Ann (Rose) Wilks, 67, of Niles, Michigan died on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at her home following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 29, 1948 in Niles to Elmer and Genevieve “Sally” (Dwyer) Rose.

Cheryl graduated from Niles High School in 1966 and worked for ACI, The Appraiser’s Choice, starting in Saint Joseph, Michigan and then moving with the company to Palm Coast, Florida. She then returned to the Niles area in retirement after many years of service.

Surviving family includes one daughter, Heather (Kraig) Shelby of Saint Joseph, Michigan and one son, Josh (Holly) Wilks of Ashley, Michigan; her grandchildren, Madison Phillips, Brady Shelby, Sally Shelby, Trenton Wilks, Payton Wilks, and MacKenzie Wilks.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Elmer Rose, Jr. and Shirley Gaulzetti.

A time to gather and share memories of Cheryl Ann Wilks will be held at her home (2595 Lake Shore Dr., Niles, Michigan) from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016.

Donations in memory of Cheryl may be made to the LIVESTRONG program for cancer recovery at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA or to the Lakeland Health Foundation, Niles towards the cancer support services.
