Mary Esther Goldsmith, 73, of Niles, passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

Mary was born on Jan. 18, 1943, to the late Frank and Dolores (Forsyth) Virgil. After high school Mary wed and had two children, Annette and James.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kevin Virgil.

Mary is survived by her children, Annette (Steven Bare) Bernal of Gobles, Michigan and James Goldsmith of Niles; three grandchildren; one great grandson; sister, Frances Syverson of San Diego, California; and brothers, Tim Virgil of San Diego, California and David Virgil of San Diego, California.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes she has been cremated and her family will celebrate her life privately.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Niles.
