Ruth Ann Fleenor-Bierle, 64, of Niles, passed away on June 4, 2016, at Lakeland Hospital in Niles after a long courageous battle with heart disease.

Ruth was preceded in death by her son, David Monroe Fleenor; parents Walter and Emma Jackson and a brother, Edward Jackson.

She is survived by her lifelong friend Don Fleenor; daughters, Angela Cole and Ruthie Cole; beloved grandchildren, Robbyn, Cameron and Katie Cole; siblings, Michael Jackson, Deborah Luke, Walter (Dee) Jackson and Conrad (Betty) Jackson and her Schnauzer’s, Siminole “Simi” and Sequoia “Sassy” who she loved more than most people.

Ruth was born on April 10, 1952, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, where she was raised by her grandparents, Lonnie and Alice Seratt. As a teenager she moved to Buchanan, Michigan, with her parents. In 1967 she and Don Fleenor married and had three children and three grandchildren. Ruth worked in the secretarial field most of her life.

Ruth loved her family, but her grandchildren; Robbyn, Cameron and Katie were especially the apples of her eye. “Grammy loves you!”

Her family predicts many World Series wins for the Saint Louis Cardinals, since she was their number one fan. Also, all homeless animals will find loving homes.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Visitation will be two hours prior from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Ruth’s honor to Pet Refuge, Lakeland Hospital or American Heart Association. The family of Ruth would like to thank the ER/ICU unit staff of Lakeland Hospital of Niles for their outstanding level of care and professionalism they provided for Ruth.
