Beckwith presents ‘The Foreigner’
DOWAGIAC — The Beckwith Theatre will to present Larry Shue’s comedy, “The Foreigner,” on July 8-10 and July 15-17.
Friday and Saturday shows will begin at 7:30 p.m., while Sunday shows begin at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $10.
At a fishing lodge in rural Georgia, British demolition expert “Froggy” LeSeuer introduces the locals to his friend, a pathologically shy young man named Charlie. Froggy tells all that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone the fun really begins, as Charlie overhears more than he should, including damaging revelations. His ability to understand everything being said fuels the nonstop hilarity of the play and sets up a wildly funny climax.
An opening night wine reception will be provided by Cody Kresta Vineyard and Winery of Mattawan.
Call 269-782-7653 for reservations.
The Beckwith Theatre Company is located at 100 New York Ave., Dowagiac.
