The front lawn of the Dowagiac Area History Museum was bustling with activity Saturday morning, as the city’s Farm and Artisan Market opened for its first weekend of the season.

Customers visiting the stalls set up that morning had a selection of fresh fruit and veggies, hand-made jams and jellies, fresh cuts of beef, photographs and even custom crafted birdhouses and jewelry to purchase.

The market, which kicked off Wednesday, will be open every Wednesday and Saturday through fall. For more information people or interested vendors can call the Downtown Development Authority at (269) 782-8212.
