Katherine Genette Shanafelt passed away after a short struggle with cancer at her home in Fort Collins, Colorado.

She was born in Bridgeport, Illinois to Benjamin Theodore Ausbrook and Katherine Fredona Fletcher and joined sister Sharlee. She married Jules Harry Shanafelt Jan. 20, 1945, and had three children, Gary and wife Christine of Bozeman, Montana, Thomas (deceased) and wife Linda of Bradenton, Florida and Kathy and husband Gene of Fort Collins, Colorado. Katherine had five grandsons and nine great-grandchildren.

Her husband Jules preceded her in death. She was a wonderful wife and mom and always had a smile on her face and an encouraging word to those in need, she was an inspiration to all those around her.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends but is at home now with the Lord.
