Cathy L. Rhodes, 64, of Parsons, Kansas passed away at 1:15 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016, at her home.

She was born May 3, 1952, in Niles, Michigan to William James and Betty (Passmore) Jones. Cathy grew up in Niles where she attended school and graduated from high school.

For a time, Cathy worked at Essex Wire in Berrien Springs, Michigan.On Feb. 9, 1975, she and William Ronald “Ron” Rhodes were married in Niles.Following marriage, she worked at the First National Bank in Niles until moving to Parsons in January of 1984.After making their home in Parsons, Cathy worked as a tax preparer at H&R Block for 17 years.

She was a Baptist.She enjoyed caring for her lawn, painting, and doing arts and crafts.She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include: husband, Ron Rhodes, of the home; four children, William Ronald Rhodes, Jr. and his wife, Sally, of Ludington, Melody L. Yeomans and her husband, Bill, of Cadillac, Michigan, Tina L. Chaney, of Pittsburg, Kansas and Ryan A. Rhodes and his wife, Tracy, of Parsons, Kansas; nine grandchildren and one “on the way,” eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Jeff Jones, of Niles; one sister, Dianna Rotzien and her husband, Edward, of Niles and an adopted sister, Mary Green, of Frontenac, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Keith Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.Burial will be at South Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
