Trump is a very dangerous candidate

Trump has undermined our national security by repeatedly proclaiming that if elected president he would ban all Muslims from entering our country.

This unconstitutional proposal has alienated millions of Muslims, around the world and in the U.S., and has greatly facilitated the recruiting efforts of Muslim extremists. Our security depends on collaboration with the non-extremist majority of Muslims, who can work with us to identify violent individuals and groups and help us counter their negative propaganda. We need to reach out to these non-violent Muslims, not alienate them.

Donald Trump has also undermined our economic security by claiming that he would default on our national debt and pay off our treasury bonds for less than they are worth. A flood of economists, conservatives as well as liberals, has harshly criticized this proposal, which would grossly undermine the “full faith and credit” of the U.S. government. Trump has repeatedly connived to escape his own excessive borrowing by using the bankruptcy laws to avoid paying his casino companies’ debts. Doing that with the federal government’s debt would be a disaster.

Speaking of the national debt, two non-partisan tax policy groups (The Tax Foundation and the Tax Policy Center) have analyzed Trump’s proposed tax cut policies and concluded that they would increase the national debt by 10 trillion dollars over a 10-year period.

Donald Trump’s proposed solutions to our country’s problems threaten our national security and our economic security. All of us need to make sure this man does not become our president.
