Jane E. Gilley, 75, of Niles, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Jane was born June 22, 1940, in LaPorte County, Indiana to the late Elwood and Jesse (Davis) Sheeley.

Surviving are her children Sherry (Richard) Bright, Peggy Harper and Terry Gilley, all of Niles and Amanda (Dale) Woodward of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also surviving is her sister Ellen Sokolowski of Three Oaks, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her son Mark Gilley, and her siblings Edward Sheeley and Virginia Jean Sheeley.

Services were private. Elkhart Cremation Service was entrusted with her care. Burial will take place at Posey Chapel Cemetery in LaPorte County, Indiana at a later date.

Jane was employed for seven years with Gerber Baby Wear in Three Oaks in the early 1970’s, and later became a homemaker. She attended Three Oaks Calvary Tabernacle, and loved growing and picking flowers. She was able identify all of the different types that she would see growing in her garden and in nature. She was also very kind and to animals. All types of animals seemed to sense her compassion and would gravitate towards her naturally.
