James L. Brooks Jr. passed away on May 6, 2016, after an extended illness. A memorial will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 22 at The First Church of God, 21083 Spencer Road, Cassopolis, MI 49031.

James retired from State Farm insurance.

He is survived by his wife Carlis, three sons and one daughter. James Crow, Peter Brooks, Aaron Brooks and Aily Brooks.

He had a son who preceded him in death, Christopher Brooks.

He had 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and three sisters.
