Kimberly Lynn Bufkin, 49, of Elkhart, Indiana, died peacefully Monday, May 9, 2016, in her residence.

Kimberly was born Dec. 8, 1966, in Cassopolis, Michigan to Marvin and Diane (Copley) Bufkin, Sr. Her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her sister, Kena Lynn Bufkin.

Kimbo loved everyone and everything, accepting anyone with open arms and love. She was “so joyful.” She loved gathering with family and friends. She loved to cook, she loved to dance, she loved her music and she loved to tell stories. Kimbo enjoyed her nightly prayer group. She dreamt of being on “Wheel of Fortune” and winning the whole thing.

Kimberly will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Orange Grimes of Elkhart, Indiana; two daughters, Brittany Bufkin of Kalamazoo, Candice Bufkin of Elkhart; two sons, Marquis Davis of Kalamazoo, Deangelo Bufkin of Elkhart; two granddaughters, Jayla Davis, Malia Maldonado; one sister, Mia Bufkin of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Marvin “Boo” Bufkin, Jr. of Elkhart; and a host of family members and friends.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, May 14, 2016, for a Wake Service at noon for remarks and remembrances by family and friends at The Church of Cassopolis, 525 Pearl Street, Cassopolis. Following the personal comments at the Wake Service, the funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the church with Apostle Christopher J. Pittman officiating with remarks by the Reverends James and Ernestine Bean. Ms. Bufkin will be laid to rest near her parents in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Cassopolis.
