Tennis roundup: Brandywine wins BCS regular season title

The Brandywine tennis team locked up the BCS Athletic Conference regular season championship with a 7-1 win over Comstock Monday.

The Bobcats swept the doubles flights from the Colts en route to going 6-0-1 in BCS matches.

Brandywine improved to 10-0-1 overall.

Elizabeth Hartz won the toughest match of the day for the Bobcats as she defeated Lissa Weaver 6-3, 6-7 and 10-5.

NILES TENNIS

STEVENSVILLE — Visiting Niles was defeated by arch rival Lakeshore 5-3  in SMAC West Division tennis Monday.

Natelie Swailes won by default at No. 1 singles for the Vikings.

Jessica Akey and Hannah Davis, along with Brooke Sinner and Karla Espinoza also won by default at No. 1 and No. 4 doubles.

The Dowagiac tennis team played to a 4-4 draw with visiting Plainwell in Wolverine Conference action at the middle school courts Monday.

The Chieftains won three of the four singles flights, while the Trojans won three of the four doubles flights.
