As Orchard Hills Country Club heads into its second century, leaders of the Buchanan business are focused on growth.

Bill Loux, the club’s general manager, said the club is working to improve the course and its facilities, building on improvements completed in recent years.

Among those enhancements was a complete rebuild of the green on holes 9 and 14. Loux said the holes are now more user-friendly.

“They were quite difficult before, but they still aren’t easy,” he said.

In 2014, Orchard Hills completed renovations on its clubhouse. Located deep inside the golf course overlooking the St. Joseph River, the facility is frequently rented for events as small as bridal showers and as large as weddings and reunions.

“It is the most beautiful place in southwest Michigan to eat or play golf by far,” Loux said.

To commemorate its recent milestone, Orchard Hills launched a membership campaign to entice new members.

Social memberships allow people to eat at the club, attend social events and play two rounds of golf on the 18-hole course, which is located at 2841 Niles-Buchanan Road in Buchanan.

The club currently has 381 members, 210 of which are social members.

Other offers are available for the club’s varying levels of memberships.
