Niles’ Lamb wins three events at 59th Rotary Meet

BENTON HARBOR — Niles’ Larry Lamb won three events at the 59th annual St. Joseph-Benton Harbory Rotary Track Meet at Filstrup Field Friday.

Lamb was a triple winner as he swept the hurdle events and won the pole vault.

The Vikings’ Josh Buckingham was a double winner as he captured the boys 100- and 200-meters.

Lamb cleared 12-6 in the pole vault and ran times of 15.42 in the 110-meter high hurdles and 41.63 in the 300-meter hurdles.

Buckingham ran 11.10 in the 100-meters and 22.72 in the 200-meters.

Niles’ Joe Avance and Conner Amberg were third and fourth in the 100-meters.

Niles’ Maya Brookins was honored with one of the Rotary Club scholarships during the meet.

Nijah Russell won the 100- and 200-meters for Dowagiac.

In the 200-meters, Russell ran 26.18 to beat Brookins, who ran a 26.95 and Rimpson, who ran a 27.47.

Dowagiac’s Leroy Lewis won the high jump with a leap of 6-1. Niles’ Abijah Goodson finished second with a jump of 5-9.

Cassopolis’ Deion Gatson won the 400-meters with a time of 50.70.
