Danuel was born April 18, 1944, to John and Leona Morford of Glenwood, Michigan.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, he served in the Peace Corps after college, working in Brazil, Ecuador and Peru. Fluent in three languages, Danuel spent many years working in South America for underprivileged communities, teaching English and assisting in the building of houses, establishing effective agriculture practices for underserved communities. He remained in South America for several years, even after his service with the Peace Corp.

In 1975, Mr. Morford established a Hispanic organization in Lansing, Michigan, helping Spanish-speaking children and adults to achieve their GEDs, offering liaison services to assist acclimation to academic life and obtaining citizenship for those who had immigrated to Lansing and the surrounding areas.

During his residence in California and Florida, Danuel was a freelance accountant, specializing in tax preparation and amortization services. Danuel returned to Michigan to live in 2014 to be close to his mother Leona.

Throughout Dan’s life, he served the poor and needy and always worked as a volunteer despite having a full-time occupation and busy life. Because of his adept language skills, his services were in constant demand, and he freely and lovingly taught Spanish and English to anyone who wanted to learn. Most recently, Danuel was a volunteer for Decatur Human Services, where he served as an interpreter to migrant families and helped with food distribution.

Danuel gave his life to the Lord many years ago and was a good and faithful servant of his love for Jesus.

He is survived by his mother, Leona Morford; four sister: Julie, Jennifer, Missy and Jaqueline and two brothers: Kenneth and Joseph. He was preceded in death by his brother Johnny in 1967, and his father in 1994.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
