Brandywine wins own invitational; Vikings sweep opponents

The Brandywine tennis team won its own invitational tournament at Plym Park Saturday.

Brandywine swept the doubles flights and three of the four singles flights to score 23 points.

Galesburg-Augusta was second with 17 points.

South Bend Washington was third with eight points.

 

Niles tennis

The Vikings beat SMAC opponent Kalamazoo Central and non-conference opponent Three Rivers 5-3.

Winning two matches on the day for Niles were Jessica Akey and Hannah Davis, Claire Prillwitz and Amanda Chaffin, Taylor Hibberd and Hannah Hill, along with Brooke Sinner and Karla Espanoza — all in doubles matches.
