BRISTOL, Ind. — The second annual “Salute To Veterans,” a living history event that has quickly become one of America’s greatest WWII reenactments, will be held May 14-15, 2016 in Bristol, Indiana.

In 2015, the event was hosted at the Elkhart Municipal airport, but has been relocated to Bristol to an environment that closer resembles the typography of what our troops faced in the forests in and around Germany.

A Salute To Veterans is not only becoming one of America’s premier WWII living history events, it is also a cultural, social, and highly authentic battle reenactments.

A Salute To Veterans is an annual event that is open to the public and allows attendees to experience one of the most important periods in this nation’s history. Guests will meet uniformed men, women, their machines of war, and learn how they lived and trained and the sacrifices they made. They can experience themed battles and explore fully working Allied and Axis camps complete with troops, their weapons and the equipment they used during WWII.

Attendees will be able to view numerous living history displays with reenactors depicting medical units, weapons depots, field kitchens, the Red Cross, war photographers, and even a USO show.

Visitors can also watch demonstrations on tactics and weapons. See what daily life was like on the front, come out and experience the ground shake as both US and German armor engage in combat. Patrons can get up close to vehicles they used including Halftracks, Jeeps, Weasels, German armored reconnaissance and transports, along with other vehicles actually used by our troops overseas.

The event will be held in Bristol, 10 miles east of Elkhart at 14583 SR 120 at Ebys Fun Center.

Gates open at 9 a.m. both days. Admission is $10 for adults. Children under 8 and veterans are free.
