Leroy Hollomon Jr., 70, of Dowagiac, died peacefully Wednesday morning, April 27, 2016, in Kelly’s Hillside Manor in Dowagiac.

He was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Mound Bayou, Mississippi, the Reverend Leroy and Jessie Bell (Wentford) Hollomon, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.

Leroy was the son of a Baptist preacher and a member of Second Baptist Church in Dowagiac.

Leroy enjoyed fishing, hunting, going for morning walks, and just being outside. He will be remembered for his membership at Second Baptist Church.

Leroy will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Libbie (wife, Onyema) Kaler of Dowagiac; two sons, Mark Hollomon of Marcellus, Paul (wife, Audra) Hollamon of Grand Rapids; six grandchildren, Albrei Mudry of Grand Rapids, Azteyn Mudry of North Carolina, Destiny Hollamon, Ayloni Campbell, Davyn Hollamon, Aerys Hollamon; several siblings; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at 4 p.m.  Monday, May 2, 2016, for a Memorial Service in Second Baptist Church, 203 North Paul St. (north of M 51), Dowagiac, with the Reverend Maurice Broadway officiating.
