The Dowagiac Elks honored its 2016 scholarship winners by hosting a dinner in their honor last week. Recognized were Makalya Long, from Edwardsburg High School, and Justin Yakim, from Dowagiac Union High School, who each received a $1,000 scholarship from the service organization. Attending the dinner and the presentation were Makalya’s and Justin’s families along with Elks officers, trustees and members.
