Athlete Showcase: Dowagiac’s Kellyn Daly

Kellyn Daly is a freshman on the Dowagiac soccer team.

 

What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?

KD: Scoring three goals in one game.

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?

KD:  My mom, because she comes to ally my games and supports me.

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

KD:  When we’re tied and trying not to let the other team score.

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

KD:  Shooting the ball and it didn’t even come close to the goal.

How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?

KD:  Run.

What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?

KD:  Softball or track.

Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?

KD:  It helps teach kids responsibility.

How would you give away $50,000?

KD:  I would donate it to Flint, Michigan or to the cancer foundation.

If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?

KD:  Notre Dame women’s soccer.

If I did not play sports, I would…?

KD:  Do photography or work.

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

KD:  Scoring goals.

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

KD:  Offsides.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

KD:  You’re really good at soccer.

What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?

KD:  Take a penalty kick to win the game, and yes.

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

KD:  Score a goal from midfield.

What is your favorite hobby? Why?

KD:  Playing sports. It keeps me in shape.
