Warren James “Jim” Searles, Jr., 50, of Niles, Michigan died on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Franciscan Saint Anthony Hospital in Michigan City unexpectedly, but of natural causes. Jim was born November 11, 1965 to Warren James “Jim” Sr. and Barbara (Brown) Searles.

Jim was a 1984 graduate of Brandywine High School in Niles and worked as a supervisor for Wag’n Tails Mobile Conversion. He was a true Notre Dame fan and also rooted for his Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed doing remodeling projects around the house, visiting casinos with his wife and friends, watching NASCAR and NHRA and he loved spending time with his family and most of all his grandson Jayden and Jayden adored his Papa just as much.

On March 22, 1986 in Niles, Jim married Patricia “Patti” Rhoads, with whom he celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Patti survives with their two daughters, Jennifer Searles and Allison (Nathan Balint) Searles and grandson, Jayden Balint. Also surviving are Jim’s parents, Jim Sr. Barb Searles of Niles and two brothers Michael (Angie) Searles of Niles and Doug (Dawn) Searles of Osceola, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Warren James “Jim” Searles, Jr. will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Mr. Sam Dyer, Jim’s brother-in-law, officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Hills.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 2-6p.m. on Sunday. Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the American Heart Association.
