Brandywine’s Fox tosses perfect game

BRIDGMAN — Toby Fox tossed a perfect game to help lead Brandywine to a sweep of Bridgman in a BCS Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader Monday.
The Bobcats defeated the Bees 16-0 in four innings and 12-0.
Fox struck out seven and did not walk a batter.
“I was real happy with the pitching tonight,” Brandywine coach David Sidenbender said. “We were on top all night. Toby was perfect, literally.”
Hunter Janowiak was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs in the opening game for the Bobcats.
Cole Searles was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Jeshua Wiese was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Mark Conrad singled and doubled and Zach Grishaber tripled and drove in two runs.
Conrad picked up the win in the second game as he went six plus innings striking out nine and walking one.
JeRod Glenn recorded the final two outs of the nightcap.
Janowiak and Searles were both 3-for-5 and combined for three RBIs.
Brady Duval was 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Fox doubled and drove in a run. Austin Balos and Joe Covyeou each drove in two runs.
“We really started to hit up and down the line up tonight,” Sidenbender said. “Everyone contributed.”

Softball
BRIDGMAN — Host Bridgman played long ball in sweeping Brandywine 11-1 and 13-3 in BCS Athletic Conference softball Monday.
The Bees had 10 extra base hits, including seven doubles, a triple and a home run.
Amara Mavrakis did most of the damage as she doubled twice and homered, while Breanna Riggenbach doubled and tripled.
Riggenbach tossed a no-hitter for the Bees in the opening game, while Ashley Crowder tossed a three-hitter in the second game. They combined for 19 strikeouts with just one walk.
Sydney Carlson, Grace Polomcak and Nicole Sachman had the three hits in the nightcap for Brandywine.
