Cass County voters to determine next leaders

Published 9:59 am Thursday, April 21, 2016

With the passing of the state mandated filing deadline Tuesday, Cass County voters now know who will be appearing on the ballot in August.

On top the choice of who will serve as the next commander in chief, local voters will decide more than a dozen vital national, state, county and township positions during this year’s general election in November.

Before that, though, citizens will be asked to select which candidate will represent the Republican or Democratic parties in the November election during the 2016 state primary election, which takes place Aug. 2.

Candidates wishing to run with party affiliation had until 4 p.m. Tuesday to file for office. People who wish to run for office without party affiliation have until July 21 to file.

Below is a list of candidates slated to appear on the August primary ballots. Candidates listed with a * are incumbents.
