Allen B. Brooks of Niles, passed away in Nokomis, Florida, on April 13, 2016.

Al was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to M. Allen Brooks and Virginia (Brothers) on April 26, 1930. During high school he met his life partner and love, Barbara Joan Smith, who were married May 14, 1950.

Together they had four children, Chris (Beth) Brooks of Berrien Springs; Dean (Lisa) Livelybrooks of Veneta, Oregon; Keith (Marianne Rodtsbrooks) Brooks, Indiana; and Ellen (Mark) Ewert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They also have six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Al was active on the Brandywine School Board and Pawating Hospital Board. He was employed at National Standard Company for 26 years and retired in 1989. Afterwards he and his “Barbie doll” spent the winters in Nokomis, Florida, with many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his beloved daughter, Ellen. There will be a celebration of life at a future time to be announced.
