LakelandHealth.com named website of the year in healthcare

Lakeland Health was recently named the 2015 Telerik Sitefinity Website of the Year winner in the healthcare category. Since its inception in 2011, the Website of the Year awards have been recognizing Telerik Sitefinity-powered websites for creativity, design, user experience, functionality, and overall website presentation.

Lakeland launched their newly redesigned website in January of 2015. The site currently houses more than 1,200 pages and 16 microsites. While visiting the site, which is responsive for use on multiple devices, users have access to a robust physician search tool, a content library featuring accredited health news and articles, and an events calendar that can easily be searched by date range or specialty and then directly added to a visitor’s personal calendar. The entire site can be translated to a visitor’s preferred language using a button on the tool bar.

In 2015, Lakeland Health also became the first hospital in the nation to integrate Healthgrades’ five star ratings within the Find a Doctor directory on their corporate website. When making decisions about their healthcare, patients are now able to see how their peers have rated a physician and immediately share feedback about their own healthcare experience without ever leaving the website.

As in previous years, the 2015 Website of the Year winners were selected in two phases. First, an internal jury selected the three best Telerik Sitefinity websites in the 18 designated categories. After narrowing the field, voting was opened up to the community at large to choose the winners. With a record number of votes – close to 8,000 people participated in the voting process.
