What has been one of your greatest

accomplishments as an athlete?

MS: Being chosen as all-conference honorable mention as a sophomore.

What has been one of your biggest

disappointments as an athlete?

MS: Being the third out in the last inning of a one-run game.

What has been a hardship in your life?

MS: I have been blessed that I have not been through a difficult hardship in my life.

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?

MS: Alex Tashijan, a family friend, was a pitcher at Penn High School and went through brain surgery and continued to play softball.

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

MS: Knowing that a tied game could go either way and both teams are going to leave it all on the field.

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

MS: Pitching and losing the grip of the ball and having it fly backwards. Unfortunately it has happened more than once.

How do you tend to

workout/train when by

yourself?

MS: I tend to focus more on specific things I know I need to work on.

What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?

MS: Competitive swimming.

Who would you say is your “biggest fan?” Why?

MS: My father because he has been at every pitching/hitting lesson, practice, and game helping me through every rough patch and pushing me to be better.

How would you give away $50,000?

MS: I would donate it to the youth Special Olympics softball program.

If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?

MS: I would love to be the head coach of one of the youth Special Olympic softball teams to share my love of the game with everyone.

If I did not play sports, I would…?

MS: Be lost. Sports have made me the person I am today. Thank you to all the coaches and girls I have played with.

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

MS: Converting to a pitcher from a catcher at 11 years old and returning to a catcher at 16 years old.

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

MS: Dropped third strike, because as a pitcher we struck them out, but they still have the opportunity to be safe at first base.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

MS: At last year’s Chieftain Invitational, after I got three stitches in my hand and returned to play. Coach Behnke said I was one tough cookie.

What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?

MS: The scariest thing I have had to do was introduce myself to college coaches. I am glad I stepped out of my comfort zone because they are just regular people too.

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

MS: The way my team works together to push each other to be the best players we can be. Also, picking each other up when we need it.

What is your favorite hobby? Why?

MS: Softball, because I get to be around teammates that love the game as much as I do.

Choose one word to describe yourself:

MS: Determined.
