Edwardsburg third, Dowagiac fifth at jamboree

VICKSBURG — The Wolverine Conference kicked off its season with a jamboree at Angels Crossing Golf Club Monday.

Otsego, the defending conference champion, captured the first jamboree with a team score of 176.

The host Bulldogs were second with a 183, which Edwardsburg finished 10 strokes back in third with a 193.

Dowagiac and South Haven tied with a 194, but the Rams had a better fifth-man score and was awarded fourth place.

Edwardsburg’s Carter Goodson, the defending league medalist, picked up where he left off last season by earning the top spot with a round of 41.

Dowagiac as led by Justin Yakim’s 45.
