Buchanan blanks New Prairie 4-0

Erica Mitchell scored four goals as the Buchanan girls soccer team blanked visiting New Prairie (Indiana) 4-0 Monday.

Mitchell scored two goals in each half for the Bucks.

Madison Schau stopped all five New Prairie shots on goal to record the shutout.

“This season was an undetermined one for the Lady Bucks due to the loss of 15 critical senior soccer players last year,” Buchanan coach Katie Coules said. “This game would determine if the team would crumble to pieces or rebuild.”

The Bucks are back in action Wednesday as they host Comstock in a BCS Athletic Conference match.
