Former Niles educator Moyser celebrates 104th birthday

Marian Moyser celebrated her 104th birthday April 1 at Brentwood Assisted Living in Niles with a luncheon hosted by fellow members of the Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (DKGSI).
Moyser is a charter member of the Pi Chapter, a society of key women educators that provides grants to educators in the Niles area for classroom projects.
Moyser enjoyed a long teaching career in Berrien County beginning in the 1930s. Her first eight years of teaching were in a one-room schoolhouse just north of Niles. She moved to Niles and taught at Cedar Lane, Westside and Oak Manor elementary schools. She also served as principal at Oak Manor.
