The dining area of the Cass County COA Lowe Center became an impromptu campaign stop for several local politicians Monday afternoon, during the agency’s annual Dyngus Day celebration.

More than two dozen area leaders showed up to the annual event, celebrating the Polish post-Easter holiday, to enjoy a lunch of polish sausage, sauerkraut and other Eastern European dishes with diners in the COA cafeteria.

Among those in attendance were State Sen. John Proos, State Reps. Aaron Miller and Dave Pagel, Cass County judges Michael Dodge, Susan Dobrich and Stacey Rentfrow, county commissioners Skip Dyes, Clark Cobb, Robert Wagel and Roseann Marchetti.

Several of the politicians briefly spoke to the audience during the lunch, including those running for office in November.
