Despite cool weather, we had a nice turnout for the Berrien County Civitan Club egg hunt last Saturday, March 19 in Niles.

The children all seemed to enjoy themselves.

The winners of the $25 prizes were:

• 2-year-old age group — Jane Palmisano

• 3-4 age group — Violet Pugh

• 5-7 age group — Areli Galinco

• 8-10 age group — Jazmine Ford

Congratulations to all.

I want to thank all those who contributed: Eagles, McDonald’s, Pizza Transit, Chemical Bank, Niles Main Street DDA, Martin’s, Walmart and Greater Niles Community Federal Credit Union.

A special thank you to my Civitan Club and volunteers for stuffing eggs and/or helping “lay” more than 4,000 eggs at Riverfront Park.

Because of all of you, we continue to have great egg hunts.
