Cindy J. Derbyshire, 63, of Niles, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, March 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Niles on Aug. 23, 1952, to the late John W. Carmen L. (Diveley) Derbyshire. She graduated from Niles High School in 1970 and in 1969 she married the late Jay Gordon Miller. After Jay passed Cindy married Danny Vance. Cindy worked at Madison Center for 23 years where she was a case manager. Cindy was a lifelong resident of the Barron Lake Area. She lived in Pensacola, Florida and Texas for a time. She was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and a lover of the beach and sun. Cindy was also a huge Notre Dame Fan and traveled much of the United States.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Judy Derbyshire-Bunnel.

Cindy is survived by her son, Jeffrey Miller and his girlfriend Pamela Allison of Niles, a granddaughter, Kila Nicole Stamper of Elkhart, four nephews, Todd Bunnel of Anchorage, Alaska, Troy Bunnel of Portage, Michigan, Dr. Cliff (Kathy) Hodges of West Bath, Maine, and Ryan Hodges of Detroit, Michigan, two brother-in-laws, Terry Bunnel of Portage, Michigan, and John Hodges of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a great nephew, Brayden Hodges, a sister, Cheri Derbyshire of West Palm Beach, Florida, a grand-dog “Gracie May” and many friends, too numerous to mention. All who knew her will miss her very much.

Her family will gather to remember her on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a funeral service at Noon and visitation two hours prior.
