BENTON TOWNSHIP — Registration for Lake Michigan College summer courses begins Monday, March 14. Students returning home from other colleges and universities are invited to get ahead and save money by enrolling as guest students.

Summer term runs May 9 through Aug. 20. Courses are offered in five-, seven-, 10- and 14-week sessions and are offered online, in a classroom, or a combination thereof. A class schedule is available at lakemichigancollege.edu/schedule.

There are huge advantages to taking summer courses, according to Doug Schaffer, vice president of students and enrollment management. For some courses such as general chemistry, students can complete an entire year of requirements in just one summer.

“Students who have recently graduated high school can jump start their college education, while current students can graduate earlier or spend time on academic areas that need additional focus. It’s a great opportunity for families to reduce their overall education costs with LMC’s low tuition rates.”

Guest students from other colleges must submit a Michigan Guest Student Application to their college registrar for approval and to ensure class transferability, and then send test scores and college transcripts to LMC prior to registering for classes.

Students can complete LMC’s free application and register for classes online at lakemichigancollege.edu or visit LMC’s Napier Avenue campus in Benton Township, the South Haven campus, or the Bertrand Crossing campus in Niles. Call the admissions office at (269) 927-8626 for more information.
