Two people were injured in a motorcycle versus car accident on M-51 in Dowagiac Friday afternoon.

According to police, Cass County dispatch received a call around 2:10 p.m. reporting that a traffic accident had occurred at the intersection of M-51 and Peavine Street, outside the city limits in Pokagon Township. The crash occurred when a Jeep Cherokee pulled out into M-51 from Peavine Street and collided with a motorcycle heading southbound on the highway.

The driver of the jeep was transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment. The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to a hospital in South Bend.
