Patricia Ann “Patty” Neesley, 80, of Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.

A gathering of friends and family will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Bethel Gilead Community Church, 876 Block Road, Bronson, followed by a memorial service, beginning at noon. Pastor Jim Erwin will officiate. A reception will be held immediately following the service, also at the church. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation of Union City.
Patty was born on Dec. 22, 1935 to Kenneth and Helen (Hansen) Morris in Niles, Michigan. She grew up in Niles and met her future husband, William C. “Bill” Neesley, at the age of 13. They dated through high school and were crowned Homecoming King and Queen in 1953 at Niles High. They married on Aug. 25, 1956, at St. Mary’s Church in Niles.
The couple lived in Marshall before moving to Coldwater in 1960. Patty was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked for automotive dealerships as a bookkeeper for a few years. When the children were all raised, she went to work in the accounting department of the family business, L & S Products of Coldwater.
Patty and Bill traveled near and far and even bought vacation homes in Palm Springs, CA and Harbor Springs, Michigan. They shared many things in life, including a love of golfing, attending Notre Dame football and basketball games, hiking, going for walks and gardening together. Patty was a long-time member of the Coldwater Country Club and made many friends there through the years. She loved her family dearly and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Patty is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill Neesley, her children Steven Neesley of Henderson, Nevada, Christine Neesley, Sherry Neesley, Mark (Shamayne) Neesley and Michelle (Carl) Albert, all of Coldwater, her brothers Kenneth (Sharon) Morris, Jr. of Cudahy, Wisconsin and Conrad (Shari) Morris of Westmont, Illinois and Robert (Deborah) Morris of Auburndale, Florida, her sister Susan Cuddeback of New Haven, Indiana, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by only her parents.
