Niles falls to Lakeshore in regular season finale

STEVENSVILLE — The Niles girls basketball team will enter the post season with a 7-13 overall record following a 60-35 loss to Lakeshore in SMAC West Division action Friday night.
The Vikings (3-7 SMAC West) trailed the Lancers (17-2, 10-0 SMAC West) just 15-12 after one quarter, but was outscored 17-8 in the second quarter as Lakeshore opened up a 32-20 halftime lead.
Maya Brookins and Jaycee Myer both scored nine points for Niles, which hosts the Class A District Tournament beginning Monday.
Lakeshore got a game-high 23 points from Taylor Wagner, while Morgan Kaiser and Morgan Shewmaker scored 14 and 12 points respectively.
