Diane C. Flannery, 52, of Niles, Michigan died on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Lakeland Hospital in Niles. Although Diane was diagnosed with lung cancer in August, her short life ended due to complications from pneumonia. She was born Feb. 27, 1963, in Niles to Orval and Sharon Flannery, Jr.

Diane never fell short of having a good time and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and attending the races, having BBQ’s with her family and friends, swimming, and taking her son Dokota on many adventures. Her favorite was Michigan Adventures and camping. For 14 years Diane took pride in working with her special friends, she enjoyed her job and helping them maintain their independence. Diane had the brightest blue eyes that will be remembered for a lifetime, she had a smile that would brighten anyone’s day. Diane loved to help whenever and wherever she was needed. She will be greatly missed by many and all who loved her.

Surviving family includes her mother, Sharon Bryers of Niles; a brother, Mike (Robin) Flannery, Sr. of Niles; Diane’s children, Dokota Flannery, Bruce Fergison, Jr. and Roxi Fergison; four granddaughters, a grandson and many nieces and nephews. Diane was loved by many, especially her dearest friends Jeff Parris and Katie Lowe and their families.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orval and one brother, Duane Flannery.

A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 34 Sycamore Street, Niles. Donations collected at this time will go for Dokota.

Don’t cry over the past, it’s gone.

Don’t stress about the future, it hasn’t arrived.
