Emily Erwin is a senior on the Brandywine girls basketball team.
What has been one of your greatest
accomplishments as an athlete?
EE: Breaking three school records.
What has been one of your biggest
disappointments as an athlete?
EE: Not making it to state.
What has been a hardship in your life?
EE: When my parents got divorced.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
EE: My mom, she is always there to support me and she never lets me down.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
EE: When everyone is talking about a big game coming up.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
EE: When I air ball threes.
How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?
EE: I look for teammates to workout with to state motivated.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
EE: Tennis.
Who would you say is your “biggest fan?” Why?
EE: My family has always been my biggest fans.
How would you give away $50,000?
EE: I would give it to cancer research because so many people I know have been affected by cancer.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
EE: Notre Dame women’s basketball.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
EE: Work more.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
EE: To accept a bad call by the refs.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
EE: Have five seconds in the paint instead of three seconds.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
EE: That I’m very humble and always show sportsmanship.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
EE: Read out loud in a class and yes because it helps me prepare for college.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
EE: When our Brandywine community came together to help with all the cancer fundraisers.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
EE: Playing basketball because it helps me get my mind off of things.
