A Dowagiac man is behind bars after officers with the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team conducted a meth bust in the county Thursday, according to a release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

He is currently being held on $60,000 bond.

Morse was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 29000 block of Corwin Street in Wayne Township, a location where detectives with the drug enforcement team suspected methamphetamine was being produced. In the course of the search, police discovered a one-pot meth lab inside the residence, as well as the substance itself and components used to make it. Police also found a rifle inside the home.

Two young children were also present inside the home, prompting police to contact the Michigan Department of Human Services.
