Dowagiac wins Wolverine South

THREE RIVERS — The Dowagiac boys basketball team wrapped up the Wolverine Conference South Division championship with a 78-73 win over host Three Rivers Friday night.
But it was not easy.
The Chieftains (14-3, 6-1 South) trailed the Wildcats (9-7, 4-3 South) by 11 points at halftime, 44-33.
Dowagiac outscored Three Rivers 45-29 in the second half, which included 26 fourth quarter points, to earn the victory.
Dowagiac will wrap up its South Division schedule Wednesday at home against Vicksburg in a make-up game scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m.
Harry Reed scored 19 points, which included five 3-pointers, to lead the Chieftains, who also got 17 points each from Brandon Winchester-Jones and Leroy Lewis.
Adam Reed scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Wildcats. Tanner Blyly finished with 11 points.
